Design Of A Web-based Information System And New Student Registration For MTs Hijmar Sei Semayang Using The User-centered Design (UCD) Method

Abstract

The new student admission process (PPDB) at MTs Hijmar Sei Semayang is currently still carried out conventionally and manually. This creates several obstacles such as time inefficiency, registration queues, and a high risk of losing physical documents. This study aims to design a web-based new student registration information system to overcome these problems using the User-Centered Design (UCD) method. The UCD approach was chosen because it places users at the center of system development through four main stages: understanding the context of use, specifying user needs, creating design solutions, and evaluating the design. The result of this study is a website interface (UI) design that includes the Home Page, PPDB, Contact, News, and Admin that can digitize administration, increase information transparency, and centralize school data management.
